Wierd dreams...
Apr. 5th, 2008 02:00 pmBizarre dream last night. We were at a holiday resort that was somewhere that looked like England but was far too sunny (and all the staff were apparently Greek). A group of aliens in human disguise were also staying at the same resort disguised as a 'typical family'. The father was played by Mark Williams in his best 'Arthur Weasley' impression. Two scenes stood out enough for me to remember them. One was 'Athur Weasley' trying to buy a pint in the resort pub using a playing card instead of a bank note (this being the clue that they were 'not from round here'). His rationale was that it was a 'five dime note' because it was the '5 of diamonds' playing card. I remember trying to explain that a) you don't get dime notes b) dimes were not accepted currency in this country (where ever it was) and c) that's a playing card you imbecile. The second and far more sinister bit was the son of the family being an evil rapist using psychic powers to lure innocent teenage girls to his hotel room. I don't remember how it ends but I think there was some conclusion involving the rather affable father helping us to 'take out' his own son.
I blame the copious amounts of red wine and mead that were drunk last night...
Birthday went quietly. Had a nice dinner and some wine last night and watched Beowulf, which was one of my pressies from my wonderful wife. There were also chocolates which have almost all been scoffed now. Also went shopping yesterday for 'birthday presents for myself' and came home with several new books. Tonight there is dinner at Frankie and Bennies.
We have sorted out workmen to decorate the kitchen now which is good. So the next time any of you visit, the kitchen should look like a kitchen and not like it was decorated by the same people who do prisoner of war camps.
