DIY or New Year Clean?
Jan. 2nd, 2006 04:36 pmNew video/DVD evil genetically modified hybrid is in place, plugged in and seems to be working. Yay!!!!! And hasn't done anything evil yet. Not even stop working in the middle of running a DVD or invade Poland (either of which I suppose it may yet do but so far I am giving it the benefit of the doubt...).
So, anyone who wants either a video player (very good working order if somewhat old) or a DVD player (ok but tends to stop in the middle of playing discs, we are are probably going to ditch it but thought someone may want it) then let me know and they are yours!
Since the gym was closed, our schedule for decorating the hall has moved forward a day. So, we spent the afternoon cleaning all the surfaces in the hall in preparation for painting them tomorrow. A mucky, horrible job which produced several gallons of watery ming. Tomorrow we buy paint.
On the above topic, anyone out there any good at plastering? We have found an incompetently installed fake wall (cheap, shiny, veneer 'wood') which needs to be either replaced (beyond my skills as a DIYer) or plastered over so it can at least take a coat of paint without looking really mingy. I intend to try to plaster it myself but would prefer someone with half (or even quarter) of a brain and maybe some experience to try it first... If anyone can offer help, we may be able to offer accomodation (if you live away from Brum) and food.
