Thursday and Friday had a lot of things happen all at once... not only was there the Levellers gig to get ready for but I also had a long game of phone tennis with an agency over some work which was supposed to start today but I am still waiting for word on. If it comes out right, I will be able to work until either I get a placement or term ends, on a not at all bad salary (debt problems will be less significant for a while). Hoping to hear in the next hour or so for a possible tomorrow start.

Only pain is that the school is in Stechford, which is a bit of a trek.

Levellers were excellent as usual and were an excellent birthday pressie from my wonderful wife. Though it disturbed me that people in the crowd were requesting Beautiful day which is, frankly, one of their least interesting tracks. Also, favourite track of all time, Sell Out, was not played at all.

As Sarah mentions, the support band were sub meh in quality. They played well but had no real oomph and were really trying too hard to be the next big brit pop band without bringing anything new to the concept. This included copying a few riffs from bands like Franz Fernidad.

Buxton was fun. There are photos on facebook for any who want to see them. Peveril castle was just as hard to walk to as last time and we got to see a little more of Buxton than we did on our last visit to Derbyshire. We also visited the phys rep for Jane Austen's Pemberly house in Pride and Prejudice - Lyme park. I think Sarah was getting irritated with all my 'is this the lake Darcy jumped in?' questions by the end of that trip...

On return, we fitted a bathroom carpet (well, Sarah fitted it, using the power of her mathematical brain, I helped by telling her where she could find the stanley knife) and had a relaxing evening. Today I have mostly been tidying the house...
