While Sarah gets horribly mangled by evil gribbleys in Culuain this weekend, I have been spending a more leisurely time working from home. Myself and Eddie have gluten free Pizza, gluten free beer, wine, DVDs and the internet to amuse ourselves with. I also have some planning to do and Eddie has to catch up on his busy 'sniffing round the park, ball chasing, sleeping in the most comfortable place in the house' schedule. I sometimes worry that our high acheving, go getting canine is working too hard and may get stress...

I say some planning because it was not as much as I had originally thought - meaning I could have gone to Rifty after all. After discussion with my tutor I discovered I was only supposed to be planning to teach for 6 lessons next week rather than the whole timetable. 3 of the lessons are team taught - I planned one early last week, my teaching partner planned another and we need to discuss what to do for the third - and 3 are taught solely by me. I had already planned one of them (I had to do two plans in preparation for meeting my tutor on friday), leaving 2 to be done this weekend. Since all the resources (powerpoints, worksheets, sorting cards etc) are already more or less done (well, they are all on the system at the school, I need to read and edit them a bit) and I was a good little science teacher and put in my practical requests ahead of deadline there is little left for me to do other than, maybe, some laminating if I can be bothered later today.

After the half term, of course, it will get nastier... I go on full time table then and my first official obs is already planned...

Things I could do to pass the time include another HE job app I have found which, like theBournville one, seems ideal... 6th form college dealing with 'level 1 - 3' courses (so, GCSE, Btec, A level, Btec higher, Access to HE courses asking for 'lecturer in biology and/or chemistry'. I can definitely do chemistry at GCSE level and I have had recent experience of chemistry at Btec thanks to my placement (the big problem with the Bournville app was the requirement for more Btec experience...) so this may be a goer. I shall put in an app and see what occurs. At least I can now give definite end dates for my placement and final qualification.

ION: There is evidence to suggest that dogs may be engaging in 'flashmob' style activity... I think they are using the internet to communicate and plan events like the recent 'lets all poo on our owners' carpets' event which Eddie and at least one other dog participated in... watch out for behaviour like this in your canic and feline family members...
