Obligatory post about the snow...
Feb. 3rd, 2009 11:07 amToday I am at home rather than in a school being mentored through an intense 8 week apprenticeship style thing in how to teach primary children (seriously, I am hoping for lots of mantras and meditation and training montages, possibly some form of epic battle in the snow against 20 teacher-ninjas using laser pointers and metre rules as weapons). The school is closed, as are all schools in the area. I don't mind the day off, in fact had I been full time and working for a living I would have been over the moon, but it is annoying that it comes in the critical 'preparation weeks' before I have to go live after half term. There is so much I need to sort out - planning, getting to know the kids, finding out what it takes to bribe my subject mentor - and I can't do any of that while at home.
I *could* be writing essays, of course, and I may do some of that later. However, instead I decided to spend my day off in a more constructive way.
By constructive, read: fun...
( Fun in the snow )
In all, a fun day so far... but no teacher-ninjas... :(
